Some Random Thoughts…
October 28, 2008
As I sit and call accounts this morning, I can’t help it that my heart crys out with yearning, to be amongst God’s people and so grateful to God for His Amazing Grace, His wonderful Love, and His Mercy, which are all so undeserved. I don’t deserve any of them because if not for them, if not for His Grace, I’d be on the other end of the phone…Whether it’s behind on a bill or off living in sin in any form or fashion. If not for His Grace, Mercy & Love toward me I’d have the same attitude many of these people have. With each person I talk to it’s like looking in a mirror, because I know from God changing my life, that if it weren’t for Him, I’d be that person. It just brings tears to my eyes to think of how wonderfully gracious, merciful and loving He’s been toward me, and how His Word has affected my life in recent days. How much over the last year He has made Himself more real to me than at any other time in my Christian life. Words cannot describe the change, the thrist, and the desire that He has given me for Himself, for His Word….
Just as Isaiah said “Woe is me!”…..He realized in the presence of Almighty God, his own sinfulness and wickedness and yet the Lord touched him and changed his life, and only because of the change that was made, and the Grace, Mercy and Love that was shown him by the Lord, could he utter the words “Here am I! Send me”……
Isaiah 6:1-8 (emphasis mine)
In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.” And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
